CHOICE: 2010 SPRING FASHION SHOW

This last Sunday, May 23, was our 2nd annual SeeN fashion show, CHOICE. It was a great success with hundreds of guests all excited to enjoy an event filled with one thing...fashion. This years fashion show was dedicated in loving memory of Ja'lyn Hunt and Craig Smith, Jr. who are two brothers of theSeeN family that unfortunately moved into a place of peace during the week of the show. Our hearts are with the families of these two young men, as are our prayers. We hope that in some small way this show lightened the sorrow of these families.

After months of planning and rehearsals, show day quickly arrived. We worked with numerous stores including AKIRA, Classy Closet, Wetseal, Plato's Closet, and more. Not only did we have a variety of stores, we had help from Pivot Point cosmetology school to provide us with hair and makeup. We would like to thank all of the stores, Pivot Point, our models, interns and everyone else on the SeeN staff that helped this event come to life.

Currently, we are busy working on our upcoming Fashion Show, which is set for Spring 2010 We are almost done adding the finishing touches to our advertisements! The Photo shoots for the advertisements were the first shoots of the year. Here is a behind the "seens" look at the advertisements, which you can expect to see flying around town soon!

hot for fall--black lipstick,...do we dare?

Yes, it's hot, it's been a while since we've even thought of black lipstick, generally, black lipstick is casually considered on Halloween, or as stage make-up if you're a performer...but beyond that, it's not a make-up bag staple. Yet...it's all over the runways this fall, and it looks, well, HOT. theSeeN wouldn't recommend it in the halls of ETHS, unless you are Goth and then it fits right in...

What is most surprising is that black lipstick actually can look pretty! Yes, it does! While we don't think we'll ever rock that shade in the H-hall, we do think we make incorporate this look in our upcoming fashion show this Winter.

Very dramatic look...if you want fuller lips, use black, it's the way to go.

It does a better job of hiding your true lip line than lighter colors.

Black lipstick also includes shades of gray, and it looks fabulous on Chanel Iman. We love her (at least some of us). Paired with the leggings, stich detailed black purse, and a black sweater dress, we would call this a feminine Gothic look, and love it!

Here's another take on the black lipstick trend. Definitely a 'vampire' look. And with Twilight being such a hit, it's no surprise. We like that there is some color in this look, but this more than the others is DEFINITELY a costume look. Word of caution, constant reapplication will be needed throughout the day if you opt to follow this fall trend, great care should be taking while eating or drinking...Good Luck!

We love this laid-back-city-girl look on Toni. What stands out? The trendy vest paired with a simple white tee. Love the length of that tee btw. Make sure you have plenty of white t-shirts in stock. Just like Toni did with this look, there are numerous ways to layer with them that are comfortable and fashionable.

How do we know? The scarves and the boots have arrived! At our last SeeN meeting, staffers were sporting Uggs and leather or suede knee-high boots. We love them! Here are what some staffers are wearing...

We love how SeeN staffers rocked their scarves. Wear scarves all day long...they help keep you warm AND lookin' cute.

Evolution of Smooth!

Hello All,

The Fall/Winter weather is finally here! So as we all know moisturizing beauty products are quite important around this time of year. Over the weekend at Walgreens I came across an amazing brand. I had seen their shaving cream earlier at Target and thought nothing of it. Low and behold I bought the lip balm at Walgreens-and it was on sale! I was a bit skeptical because I have tried many lip products before that make false claims and are ridiculously expensive. This time I was proved wrong. A few hours after I used it, I noticied a difference. My lips feel like a dream now! Evolution of Smooth is a brand to trust-no doubt about it! The lip balms come in three different flavors; honeysuckle honeydew, summer fruit and sweet mint. I have the first two, but my loyalty is to the honeysuckle honeydew. Its also 95% organic and 100% natural! There is a way to go green and be happy! They come in adorable little spherical balls in cute colors. the only problem I have is that they dont fit everywhere, but its worth the loss of space. My advice, plain and simple...Go get some while they're still on sale!

We love the long sleeves on this chartreuse mini-dress. In true Baby Phat style Kimora adds a little bling on the waistline. Statement: classy-sultry-street-edge...and we love it!

theSeeN loves the hip-hop/rocker look we've been seeing in the hallways this year. Michael has a total B-Boy look with a skull & crossbones metallic studded belt...love it!

This detailed tee that Anthony rocked in the hallways of ETHS worked for us. We love the graphic print and the ribbon details on the back...

Chris impressed us with this b-ball warm-up...love MJ's arm across the right shoulder...he also had a matching Nike backpack...he's got style y'all!

Hello all,

Ventured to the local Walgreens and found fashion lens cases in the contact lens aisle. We were in love IMMEDIATELY. We love orange and blue, we love sporting orange and blue fashions on Fridays and game days, but now we can see orange and blue the first thing upon opening our eyes and the last thing before bed...can it get better than that?

A bit of an exaggeration, but these orange and blue lens cases are $3.99 at Walgreens, and fits our requirement for convenience. If you are a lens wearer with different prescriptions on each eye then you know what we mean. It is impossible to put the wrong side in the wrong eye. Not only are the covers color coded, but when you open up the tops there is a big orange R and L inside.

Pretty cool and highly recommended...

FASHION PICKS: Crossroads, Evanston

On Saturday, Sept. 19, SeeN staffers watched The September Issue at Evanston Century theaters and visited Crossroads Boutique which is right around the corner. First of all, we did love the movie, Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue Magazine is an intriguing figure. For those of you that don't know, The September Issue is a documentary about the making of the biggest issue in the history of Vogue. Fabulous and Fun.
